Spending July 4th on a boat can be a wonderful way to celebrate Independence Day! Embrace the spirit of the day by planning an easy-to-eat picnic that incorporates classic American dishes, celebrates the flavors of summer and patriotic-themed tableware for boats.

Show your spirit by using tablecloths, plates, napkins, and utensils in patriotic colors and serve your meal on reusable red, white and blue tableware for boats. Invite your guests, plan your route, decorate your boat with American flags, and pack all of the essential food, beverages and outdoor tableware you need to make your outing memorable.

Here's a delightful July 4th menu that incorporates classic American dishes and celebrates the flavors of summer:

Watermelon Salad

Cube watermelon pieces and serve them with crumbled feta cheese, fresh mint leaves, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. This combination of sweet, salty, and tangy flavors is a refreshing start to your meal.

Classic Deviled Eggs

Prepare deviled eggs by mixing hard-boiled egg yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, a splash of vinegar, salt, and pepper. Pipe the filling back into the egg white halves and garnish with paprika or fresh chives.

All-American Burgers

Grill up some classic hamburgers (either in advance or on your boat’s grill) to satisfy everyone's appetite. Use high-quality ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper. Serve them on toasted buns with a variety of toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and your favorite condiments. Wrap the burgers in foil and keep them in a cooler (one you designate for hot food) if you make them in advance and would like to keep them warm.

Grilled Chicken Skewers

Marinate chicken pieces in a flavorful blend of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, and herbs. Grill the chicken (either in advance or on your boat’s grill) until it's cooked through and has a delicious charred exterior. Wrap the skewers in foil and keep them in a cooler (one you designate for hot food) if you make them in advance and would like to keep them warm.

Grilled Corn on the Cob

Peel back the husks of fresh corn, remove the silk, and brush the corn with melted butter. Season with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of chili powder. Grill the corn until it's tender and lightly charred (we suggest doing this at home). Wrap the corn in foil and keep them in a cooler (one you designate for hot food) to keep them warm.

Veggie Skewers

Thread a variety of colorful vegetables such as bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms onto skewers. Brush them with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and grill (either in advance or on your boat’s grill) until they are nicely grilled and tender. Wrap the skewers in foil and keep them in a cooler (one you designate for hot food) if you make them in advance and would like to keep them warm.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are a beloved American classic that make a fantastic addition to your July 4th menu. Whether homemade or store bought, this delightful cookie captures the essence of American comfort food.

Berry Trifle

Create layers of angel food cake or pound cake, mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries), and whipped cream in a shatterproof dish. Repeat the layers and garnish the top with a sprinkle of fresh berries. Be sure to keep this dish chilled until serving.

Beverages

Offer a selection of refreshing beverages for your guests. Create a red, white, and blue mocktail by combining cranberry juice or strawberry lemonade (red), lemon-lime soda or ginger ale (white), and blue sports drink or blueberry juice (blue) in separate layers in an acrylic glass. Add ice cubes, garnish with fresh berries or add a patriotic straw for a festive touch. Alternatively, you can serve traditional American beverages like ice-cold lemonade, iced tea, or even a variety of craft beers.

Remember to pack your meal items in suitable containers to keep them fresh and secure during the boat trip. Some items you’re keeping cold (like deviled eggs and berry trifle) and others you’re keeping warm (like corn on the cob, burgers and kebabs). Look through all of your outdoor tableware options before you leave the house and pack the right tableware for boats to make meal time on your boat easy and elegant.

Enjoy your patriotic meal on the boat while taking in the scenic views and celebrating the independence of the United States. Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy the freedom that this special day represents!
